Why is having a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) on staff important for environmental consulting, investigation and remediation projects? The Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA) signed into law on May 7, 2009, was created in response to the backlog of over 20,000 environmental projects facing the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). The new program allows LSRPs to oversee and finalize environmental projects. The end result for many businesses is a reduction in the amount of time, effort and expense to close an environmental project.
As a result of the SRRA, NJDEP approval is no longer required; therefore, clean up of contaminated sites will be more quick and efficient. New Jersey citizens will be provided a greater measure of environmental protection and ensured that development of underutilized properties is returned to the tax rolls quicker. The Entech Group, Inc., a leader in NJ environmental clean up, estimates that projects may be issued a Response Action Outcome (RAO) letter years earlier with the assistance of a LSRP.
After the Act is fully effective in 2012, all remediation parties must use the services of a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) and can proceed with the clean up of their site without an assigned NJDEP Case Manager.
With this new law, a company seeking a NJ environmental clean up will contract with an environmental company that has a LSRP on staff. The LSRP can significantly reduce a project timeline thereby reducing project costs. Entech is here to provide clients with the solutions to close out their environmental projects. With a LRSP on staff, Entech has the capabilities to provide cutting edge services to their clients while remaining an easy, affordable option.
